Brands unveil their seasonal products

As the whole of the UK enjoys the warm summer days, confectionery brands are looking ahead to autumn and winter months. Leading confectionery manufacturer Mondelez has unveiled its seasonal range for Halloween and Christmas 2019.
Of course, chocolate and sweets are the must have items when it comes to October as consumers look to stock up for both parties and trick-or-treaters on Halloween night. Mondelez has spared no expense this year, launching three brand new sweet treats, Maynards Bassetts Dead Chewy and Scary Safari sweets, as well as Dairy Milk Oreoooo eggs.
The confectionery market around Halloween has been growing year on year, reaching £35 million worth of sales in 2018, during this period alone. For businesses across the UK, investing in Halloween-specific stock is vital in the run up to this spooky period as it more often than not leads to a spike in confectionery sales.
According to research, consumers spent an astounding £937 million on confectionery during Christmas last year. This figure shows growth twice as fast as other food and drink products within this same period. According to trade communications manager at Mondelez, Susan Nash, novelty chocolate has been a consumer favourite over the past few years, with this sub-category of chocolate now worth £23 million in sales.
To celebrate this festive period this year, Mondelez will be launching 13 new products into its Christmas range, including Cadbury Freddo Moneyboxes, Advent Calendars and Dairy Milk Santas. Alongside these new products, the brand will once again be running the Secret Santa campaign, backed by £6 million in TV, social media and PoS promotion.
