The UK public has voted for its favourite crisp brand, do you agree?

‘A joke’, ‘an utter travesty’ and ‘a national disgrace’, no these terms have not been used in discussions of ongoing Brexit negotiations, but came as a result of the revelation made by Channel 5 last month on the nation’s favourite crisps.
The countdown of the ‘Nation’s favourite crisps’ was aired on a Channel 5 documentary on 24th March, which saw Pringles, Doritos and Walkers crowned amongst the ‘God tier’ of crisp brands, whilst Nik Naks, Mini Cheddars and Walkers Squares were found at the bottom tier.
Labelled ‘worse than Brexit’, viewers turned to Twitter to vent their frustration at the list that had, in their opinion, completely missed the mark with regards to the tastiest crisps on the market. Many were astonished to find Wotsits and Quavers so far down the list, whilst others were confused about the absence of consumer favourites such as Skips and Frazzles.
With growth in the crisps, savoury snacks and nut markets expected to grow by 18% by 2021, reaching an astounding market value of £4.3 billion, it is clear to see that consumer popularity with crisp brands looks set to skyrocket even further.
With so many differing opinions on best crisp brands out there, pinpointing a precise ‘favourite’ is extremely tricky. What the study highlights is the diversity of the UK crisp market and popularity for this particular snack on an international scale.
Demand for crisps amongst consumers has led to businesses investing in vast varieties of brands and flavours to suit the palette of each and every customer, and therefore increase profits.
